The Nordic Model in the Age of AI: Open Economies, Trust and Competitiveness

May 10 2025
Speakers: Carl Bildt, Fredrik Erixon, Elzbieta Bienkowska, Martin Svensson, Andre Rogaczewski, Dan Koivulaakso, Jori Arvonen, Nanna Louise Linde

Join us in Brussels for a high-level conference exploring how the Nordic model is shaping a new vision for Europe’s AI-powered future.

Can Europe remain competitive, open, and secure in the age of AI? The Nordics may have the answer.

As Europe faces geopolitical uncertainty, economic fragmentation, and the urgent need to adopt transformative technologies like AI, the Nordic experience offers a compelling blueprint: broad tech adoption, open economies, and societal trust driving innovation and resilience.

The conference, titled “The Nordic Model in the Age of AI: Open Economies, Trust and Competitiveness,” will bring together Nordic civil servants, former heads of state, academics and industry leaders to explore:

  • How the Nordics are integrating AI while upholding democratic values and public trust
  • How investment in AI, cloud, and cross-border collaboration can boost Europe’s competitiveness and security
  • What Europe can learn from Nordic research and innovation ecosystems
  • The role of smart regulation, open markets, and public-private partnerships in unlocking AI’s potential

The event will also feature an update on the upcoming Nordic-Baltic AI Center, a new initiative to accelerate trustworthy AI innovation across the regions.

Attendance for this event is limited. If you wish to join, please email your expression of interest to [email protected], and we will get in touch should a place become available.
