ECIPE Webinar: Europe, Tech and War – Renewing Europe’s Economy for Better Growth and Security

January 30 2025
Venue: ZOOM Webinar
Speakers: Oliver Coste
Time: 15:00

Join us for a webinar with Oliver Coste where he will outline his analysis and ideas about European economic renewal!

The new industrial revolution is not powered by Europe.

It is of fundamental importance that Europe improves its technology performance and yet again becomes a region of science leadership and innovation, argued Oliver Coste in his groundbreaking book Europe, Tech and War. The region’s economy and security are both dependent on it. But what can be done? In a series of works in recent years, Coste has pointed to the need for better commercial dynamism and lower cost for European companies that need to restructure operations and change its business orientation because of technological change. How can this be done?

Oliver Coste is a tech entrepreneur who has founded and sold several tech companies. His career has included positions at the European Commission and the French government, where he was an industrial adviser to Prime Minister. As a corporate executive, he was part of periods of fundamental technological change at companies like Alcatel-Lucent – an experience that informs his analysis about European tech performance and what needs to change.
