ECIPE Seminar: Does business use the EU’s FTAs?

March 28 2018
Venue: ECIPE Office, Avenue des Arts 40, 6th floor, 1040 Brussels
Speakers: Jonas Kasteng, Ignacio Iruarrizaga, Luisa Santos, Isabelle Weiler
Time: 14:00

In collaboration with the National Board of Trade Sweden, the seminar will present and discuss new evidence on the actual use of tariff preferences in EU free trade agreements.

The EU concludes free trade agreements (FTAs) to provide European firms with better trading opportunities. So how well are the EU’s FTAs used? Which FTAs are used most and which agreements are actually under-utilised? How much value is lost by not using the negotiated tariff preferences? What are the obstacles for firms not to use preferential tariffs? What can be done to help firms reap the benefits from FTAs?
